Counter-Strike: Source, released in 2004 by Valve, was the classic CS port to the Source engine. Same mechanics (defuse, hostage, per-round economy), same soul, but with ragdoll physics, improved ambient sounds, dynamic HDR lighting and smoke grenades that actually blocked vision. For a lot of players, it was the most polished version of classic CS before CS:GO arrived in 2012. Remastered maps from 1.6 (de_dust, de_aztec, cs_italy, de_inferno) and the Surf scene, which mostly came alive in Source with maps like surf_ski_2 and surf_utopia.
