Left 4 Dead 2, released in 2009 by Valve, took everything the original L4D nailed and upgraded it in every direction. Four survivors with actual personality (Coach, Nick, Ellis, Rochelle) against the zombie apocalypse across Georgia and Louisiana, Source engine with an AI Director that adjusts difficulty based on how you play, melee weapons that changed the genre (frying pan, katana, chainsaw, fire axe, cricket bat), iconic Special Infected (Hunter, Smoker, Boomer, Charger, Jockey, Spitter, Tank, Witch), and community custom maps still coming out in 2024.

Old Servers runs a free dedicated Left 4 Dead 2 server, 24/7, with room for up to 8 players (double Valve's default). It has the whole package: the official DLCs (The Passing, Cold Stream, The Sacrifice) plus the full Left 4 Dead 1 campaigns (No Mercy, Crash Course, Death Toll, Dead Air, Blood Harvest) ported to the updated engine, so you can play L4D1 -> L4D2 -> DLCs in one long zombie road trip.
