Bayview as an open fictional city (the first NFS with a real open world), a wild customization system — vinyls, body kits, neons, rims, NOS kits, paint jobs, performance parts, window tints, hydraulics — a Celldweller cover on the menu, and Brooke Burke cinematics that are still living memes. Five modes: Circuit, Sprint, Drag, Drift and Street X. It inspired an entire generation of modders, tuners and people with PCs packed full of GTO vinyls.
