Soldat, created by Michał Marcinkowski in 2002, is a 2D multiplayer shooter with criminally addictive pull. Chunky sprites, impeccable ragdoll physics, a limited-fuel jetpack, hand grenades, and a short but iconic arsenal: M79 (the tube), Spas-12, Barrett M82A1, Ruger, Minigun, Desert Eagles, AK-74, MP5, Steyr Aug, FN Minimi. Eleven game modes (Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, Hold the Flag, Infiltration, Pointmatch, Rambo Match, Survival) and thousands of community-made maps across two decades. It weighs about as much as a .txt and runs on any PC — literally even on your sister's old netbook.
